Change!
Hopeless CD/DVD Compilation

So for about $10 you get a compact disc jammed pack full of your current favorite heavy hitters. It's also accompanied with a DVD of seventeen videos (and for anyone who grew up on a steady diet of watching music videos Change! will hopefully replenish that love). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Hot Topic Foundation which supports programs in music and film for kids.

If you're a Hot Topic regular then you might already be familiar with most of the outfits on this compilation. The only negative aspect of the release is that it doesn't contain any rare or unreleased songs, but it's definitely a great record to help you get acquainted with some really amazing bands that you might not know about. Some groups I never get tired of head-banging to on the CD are As I Lay Dying, Job For A Cowboy, Poison the Well, Gallows, and the mighty Converge. The rest: Chiodos, Silverstein, Alesana, Every Time I Die, The Chariot, The Human Abstract, The Devil Wears Prada, Partway Drive, August Burns Red, See You Next Tuesday, Memphis May Fire, HORSE The Band, Aiden, Pierce The Veil, and The Fall of Troy. There's a whole lotta heaviness and nice diversity of melodic hard rock, hardcore, and metal amongst the twenty-one bands on Change!.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for videos! The standouts for me were As I Lay Dying's "Nothing Left," The Human Abstract's black and white "Vela, Together We Await The Storm," Converge's "No Hereos" and Job For A Cowboy's "Embedded." Perhaps the one clunker on the DVD is Escape the Fate's "Situations." Think Mötley Crüe meets Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" video. Yeah, I'm still shaking me head. The rest: Chiodos, Silverstein, Boys Night Out, Alesana, Escape The Fate, Every Time I Die, The Chariot, August Burns Red, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, HORSE The Band, Aiden, and Kaddisfly.

Change! is a good investment for a good cause. Lot's of cool bands to check out on this one.
